Moody Marsh was created from memory and small photo. This was painted with a pastel underpainting. Reflections in the water create the moody feeling. There are many marsh areas near the Kerr McGee Navigation channel south of Wagner, Oklahoma. Nesting areas have been provided by the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation and volunteers.

This could also be a sight near the Salt Plains Refuge near Cherokee, Oklahoma in northwestern Oklahoma, where I grew up. The Salt flats beyond the marshes and within the marshes provide selenite crystals for digging. It is a beautiful sight with birds flocking here during migration.
