'Echoes' was inspired by a visit to Palo Duro Canyon in the late summer of 2009. Leaving the floor of the Canyon and the Charles Goodnight cabin, we ascended to the canyon rim at dusk. We saw a large longhorn steer that was eating from a pan.

A large Blood Moon was rising up over the rim on the east horizon. It was a very emotional seeing this large animal standing there drenched in the moonlight. This animal was probably a descendant of the early cattle drives. I couldn't help but wander what the steers ancestor could tell about their survival along the trail and life  in Palo Duro Canyon.
