Chief Set-T'ainte (Satanta) Kiowa War Chief
Chief Set-T'ainte, 26"x21"x15", edition 13, Kiowa War Chief, was a signer of the Medicine Lodge Peace Treaty, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas in 1867. He was called the 'Orator of the Plains' and was a very formidable character, being over six foot tall and towering over the Military personnel conducting the Peace Treaty. This bust is placed in the 'American Indian Museum' at Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma by request of the Satanta Descendants and his Great great Granddaughter Betty Sankadota Washburn.
